More scupltural than a painting, yet charming hanging on a wall or set on a display easel, these carved wooden icons are inspired by the traditional retablos of New Mexico. Each icon offers a unique commentary on the elements that are central to our lives ~ love, loss, work, play, beauty. The icons are cut from 1" thick pine, painted or stained, and then embellished with found objects, antique postcards, copper wire, tin toys, drawer pulls, toothpicks, whatever feels right to reveal the theme. Most measure 16"X12". Each one tells a story and invites you to reminisce about a similar event or time in your life. Visit my gallery: click on the Tin Roof Studio button below!
